APC Faults Abia Tribunal Judgement, Heads To Appeal Court

Following the judgement of the Abia State Election Petition Tribunal, where the petitions of the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC), High Chief Ikechi Emelike, were dismissed for lacking merit, the Lead Counsel to the APC, Fabian Okonkwo, has disclosed that they are heading to Appeal the Tribunal judgement .

 

Speaking with the Press shortly after the Tribunal delivered its verdict, Okonkwo challenged the ruling of the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Umuahia,saying that his Legal team, as well as the APC would continue to seek redress.

According to him, the Tribunal Judgement,affords them the opportunity to appeal,adding that they are heading to the Appellate Court right away.

 

He said they would also get to the Supreme Court, so that the Apex court would say whether the provision of Section (177)C of the 1999 constitution is for fancy.

 

The Lead Counsel, expressed gratitude to the Tribunal for its judgement which he said has given them room for appeal.
