ADC Primaries: Akobundu Promises More Democratic Dividends for Abia Central

The Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Col. Augustine Okwudiri Akobundu (Rtd), has assured constituents of greater dividends of democracy following his emergence as the consensus candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the district.

Akobundu gave the assurance today while addressing newsmen in Umuahia shortly after the conclusion of the party’s primaries.

He said his manifesto remains focused on delivering quality representation through effective legislation, attraction of developmental projects, oversight functions and people-oriented governance.

According to the senator, his adoption as the consensus candidate reflects the confidence and trust the people have in his leadership and representation.

He noted that the support he enjoys across the district is rooted in the visible projects and achievements already delivered to constituents, expressing confidence in emerging victorious at the polls.

Akobundu urged supporters and residents of Abia Central to remain steadfast and hopeful, assuring them that the accomplishments recorded so far represent only the beginning of greater developments ahead.

Also speaking, the ADC candidate for Isialangwa North State Constituency, Benneth Emeruwa, said his agenda is centred on good governance and restoring pride to Abia State and Nigeria through effective representation and quality service delivery.

Similarly, the party’s candidate for Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon. Ejim Chibuzor, pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people through purposeful representation and legislative actions aimed at improving security and development in the state.

For Isialangwa South State Constituency, Kenya Annaba, founder of the Piper Foundation, promised to make meaningful impacts through community-focused initiatives. He highlighted his scholarship schemes, skills acquisition programmes and involvement in major capital projects as evidence of his commitment to grassroots development.

The ADC candidate for Umuahia Central State Constituency, Godslight Mbakwe, expressed appreciation to Senator Akobundu and the party leadership for the opportunity to contest under the ADC platform. He assured constituents of his readiness to provide diligent service and positive transformation if elected.

Also, the ADC candidate for Arochukwu State Constituency, Francess Ogbonnaya, pledged to champion legislation that would improve the welfare of the people. She noted that she had already initiated several empowerment programmes aimed at uplifting residents of the constituency.

In the same vein, Tabitha stressed that fairness and equity demanded the rotation of the State Assembly seat to other parts of Arochukwu Local Government Area after 24 years of representation by the Abam Clan.
