Abia to invest more on youth development

Abia State government has promised to focus more on the development of youths as part of its human capital investment.

The Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, who disclosed this when the executive members of Okezuo Abia Youth  Wing, paid him a courtesy visit in his office advised them to engage in meaningful ventures that would last beyond the present administration.

Chief Okiyi Kalu, stated that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu was determined to take the state to a greater height, urging the members of the organization to give him their total support to actualize the goal.

He commended the members of Okezuo Abia Youth Wing for the active role they played in the re-election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, assuring them that the administration would not disappoint them.

While pledging his continued support for the organization, the Commissioner urged them to make wise use of any opportunity they have as to make progress in life.

Speaking earlier, the State Coordinator of Okezuo Abia Youth Wing, Mr. Kalu Orji, his Deputy, Elder Bon Ugorji and the secretary, Chimaraoke Uwogu, said their visit was aimed at congratulating the Commissioner on his reappointment and described it as a reward for hard work and pledged to support and work with him in projecting the image of the state positively.

In a vote of thanks, a member of the organization, Mr. Kingsley Godwin, thanked the Commissioner for the warm reception accorded them and for his fatherly advice.
