Abia Launches Rebranded Traffic Agency

Abia State Road Traffic and Safety Management Agency (ARTSMA) have been rebranded with a view to bringing sanity to Abia roads. The rebranded traffic agency is expected to bring to fire refined activities in traffic management from the lawless approach and illegalities associated with the defunct Traffic and Indiscipline Management Agency of Abia State (TIMASS).

 

Launching, the rebranded Traffic Agency, (ARTSMA), the state governor, Dr. Alex Otti said that the new ARTSMA will be reckoned with effective and efficient service delivery.

 

 

Speaking during the event in Umuahia, the Governor noted that the rebranding of the Agency is part of the rebuilding agenda of the new administration which is set to rebuild both physical infrastructure and soft infrastructure which includes the safety of Abia roads, homes and Abians in general.

The Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, represented by the Secretary to the State, Prof Kenneth Kalu who defined the role of the agency as enormous in ensuring safety in Abia roads, called on them to always work in line with the vision of Dr. Alex Otti in building an Abia that will be safe and comfortable for all.

 

 

Dr. Alex Otti assured of the readiness of the present administration in providing an enabling environment and support to agents and agencies that are committed to actualising the goals of the present administration.

 

Speaking earlier, the General Manager, Abia State Road Traffic and Safety Management Agency (ARTSMA), Col. Ezichi Kalu (Rtd), appreciated the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti for choosing him as part of his team in the building of Abia of our dream and the provision of a take-off grant to enable them deliver on their mandate.

Col. Kalu who enumerated some of the goals of the agency to include, maintaining a highly disciplined Workforce, sustenance of traffic Management driven by new technology, among others, appealed to the state Government to provide operational vehicles for them to enable them perform optimally.

 

Also contributing, the commissioner for Transport, Sunny  Onwuma, expressed joy over the effort of the new administration in putting Abia in the right perspective, while commending  Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for the good work, he is doing in the state.
