Otti consoles Oko Chukwu on brother’s death

 

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has commiserated with the immediate past deputy governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Sir Ude Oko Chukwu on the death of his younger brother, Mr John Oko Chukwu.

Speaking during the funeral service held at St James Catholic Church, Etitiama Nkporo, Ohafia LGA, Dr Alex Otti described the death of a beloved one as very painful.

The Governor represented by his Deputy, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, noted that the deceased lived a fulfilled life while alive.

He said that the death of a beloved younger brother is a painful blow that words alone can hardy sooth but to find solace in his good virtues.

Dr. Otti urged the Chief mourner, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu and members of his family to take heart at the painful exit of their beloved younger brother as death remains a necessary end for all mortals and prayed God to grant his soul an eternal rest.

In his sermon, the former Administrator Mata Dei Cathedral, Umuahia, Fr. David Aguneri urged the living to remember the reason for the death of Christ and it effects on mankind.

He reminded all of the need to reflect on the essence of their being alive on earth, which is to live a life that would earn eternity with God.


Responding on behalf of the family, the Chief Mourner and former deputy governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, described his late younger brother as a wonderful brother , a friend and one ever ready to assist as well as being the life line of the family.

Sir Oko Chukwu thanked the State government through the Deputy Governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, and others who came to identify with the family on the irreparable lost and prayed God to grant them journey mercies.

The funeral ceremony was attended by former senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, and Chairman Governing Council, University of Port Harcourt, Sen Mao Ohabunwa, former member representing Arochukwu/ Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Uko Nkole, the member representing Ohafia North State Constituency, Hon. Mandela Obasi and his Bende North Counterpart, Dr. Nnamdi Ibekwe, Clerk Abia State House of Assembly , Sir John Pedro Irokasi, captains of industry and other distinguished personalities
