Obohia Ndoki community, Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA), Abia state was thrown into jubilation yesterday as Obohia Ultra-Modern motor park was commissioned.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Obohia Ultra-Modern motor park in Obohia Ndoki yesterday, the Mayor, Ukwa-East LGA, Dame Ngozi Nwagbara (PhD), disclosed that the edifice would address the transportation difficulties in the area and enhance the socio-economic development of the area.
She said that the park would serve as a hub for transportation of people and agricultural produce, as well as create new opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs.
Dr. Nwagbara also urged the people of Ukwa-East LGA and Abians to continue to support Dr. Alex Otti-led administration, adding that the former bank Chief is committed towards repositioning Abia on the path of progress.
Commissioning the Obohia Motor Park, the Abia state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu commended the Mayor, Ukwa-East LGA, Dame Ngozi Nwagbara for leading the developmental agenda of Governor Otti in Ukwa-East LGA with notable projects.
The Information boss noted that the Ukwa-East council boss, has started very well and promised to give concerted support towards actualizing more projects in Ukwa-East LGA in the interest of the people of Ndoki land.
He also disclosed that Gov. Alex Otti has approved the construction of Obohia/Ohanku road, adding that work would commence soon.
Prince Kanu also stated that the present administration is strategic in its dealings to ensure developmental spread across the state, especially to the rural areas of the state.
He further revealed Abia state government resolve to build a seaport in Ukwa-East to support the Abia Industrial Park Project (AIPP) in Ukwa-West which will be fully sponsored by the Abia State Government.
Contributing, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu, represented by Mr. Ben Ononuju, urged the people of Ukwa-East LGA to support Gov. Otti-led administration, expressing optimism that every part of the state would witness sustainable development in the new Abia.
Reacting, the chairman, Ndoki Transit Motor Park Obohia, Chief Evans Chinedu thanked the Abia state Governor, Dr. Alex Otti for yielding to the transportation needs of their people as well as the developmental agenda for Ukwa-East and Abia state at large.
He also thanked the Abia Governor for appointing Dame Ngozi Nwagbara as the Mayor of Ukwa-East LGA, describing her as a tested technocrat.
