The Peoples Elephant, Enyimba International have qualified for the play-off of this season’s CAF Confederation Cup after defeating Diambars of Senegal 4-0 on aggregate.
The two time CAF Champions League champions had earlier defeated their opponents away by a lone goal before they completed the rout at home this Sunday.
Tosin Omoyele opened scoring on the first minute to put the Aba based side in front from the start.
Thirty minutes later Victor Chukwuma Mbaoma doubled Enyimba’s lead. Samuel Lucio Kalu scored on the dot of full time to put the icing on the cake.
Unfortunately, Nigeria’s other side in the competition, Bayelsa United were beaten 4-1 on aggregate by CS Sfaxien.
Similarly, Rivers United have been eliminated from the CAF Champions League after the lost to Al Hilal of Sudan by a lone goal after the first leg had ended 1-1 in Nigeria. So the Portharcourt based side lost 1-2 on aggregate. They join Enyimba International in the Confederation Cup.
