The Abia State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has called on the state government to liaise with all security agencies in the state, to take proactive steps aimed at stemming the spate of attacks on security formations across the 17 LGAs of the state as such attacks were taking its toll on personnel and infrastructure of the Police and rendering society vulnerable to hoodlums.

The call is coming on the heels of the recent attack on Uzuakoli Police Division in Bende LGA where hoodlums razed some parts of the police building, burnt exhibit vehicles and freed detainees after overpowering the policemen guarding the station.
