2024 Women Conference: Dr.Chukwu Felicitates Umunneochi Women, Urges Them To Support Gov Otti’s Administration

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, congratulated the Umunneochi Women on the success of their 2024 Annual Conference and described women as an indispensable force in nation-building.

Dr. Chukwu, who made this known during the 2024 Annual Women’s Conference organized by Umunneochi Local Government Council, titled Women as the Cornerstone of Development, said the theme for the event was apt, adding that the female gender is a special creation from God that cannot be overlooked in the development process.

He noted that women’s roles in families cannot be overemphasized, as they are integral in molding and nurturing lives. He stated that he is a strong advocate for the empowerment of women in nation-building.

While emphasizing the various achievements of his principal, the SSA to the Governor highlighted that the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti has excelled in the area of security, with the Umunneochi people being direct beneficiaries. He noted that residents in the area can now sleep peacefully and go about their daily activities without fear of kidnapping and other forms of criminality that plagued the area in recent years.

Stressing the importance of women in society, the Due Process Boss stated that Dr. Alex Chioma Otti’s administration is a staunch supporter and promoter of women in all aspects of life. This commitment has led to the constant provision of funds targeted at market women, particularly in rural areas.

Chukwu implored Abia women, in general, to continue supporting the current administration in its efforts to transform the state by delivering quality democratic dividends.

Speaking on the achievements of the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation (OACF), Dr. Chukwu, who is also the founder and CEO, disclosed that the OACF is a non-governmental organization aimed at improving the lives of rural dwellers and alleviating the suffering of the less privileged.

The Due Process Boss further revealed that, under his leadership, the OACF has provided scholarships to indigent students in Umunneochi Local Government Area and distributed food palliatives and other humanitarian aid.

“The OACF has been playing significant roles for a while but officially launched last August. It has been paying tuition fees, distributing books and school bags to underprivileged children in Umunneochi, which will last them for at least one academic session, among other philanthropic gestures.

“Additionally, the OACF contributed to the sponsorship of this year’s Annual Conference, as the Foundation holds a special place for women,” Dr. Chukwu added.

The highlight of the occasion included the distribution of bags of rice and other palliatives to women by the wife of the Executive Governor of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti.

The SSA to the Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, the SSA to the Governor on Environment, Prof. Ijeoma Iheukwumere, the Mayor of Umunneochi Local Government Council, Chief Ndubuisi Ike, and the SSA on Communication, Mr. Dodo Okoroafor, among other dignitaries, graced the occasion.
