We’ll Deepen Democracy, Bring Govt To Grassroot- Ikwuano Mayor

 

The newly sworn in Transition Committee Chairman of Ikwuano Local Government Area, Comrade Osinachi Nwaka, has assured the people of Ikwuano that he would change the political narrative and as well,bring government closer to the grassroot.

 

Nwaka who made this known during his swearing in as the Mayor of Ikwuano Local Government Area, alongside 16 others,said it won’t be business as usual,as he is ready to drive government policies down to the rural area.

According to him, he would deepen democratic dividend and ensure that the political trajectory is changed from what it’s used to be.

He maintained that he would change the narrative from what grassroot development was known for and usher a new system where the development of education,health care,road infrastructure,human capital development would be prioritized.

 

Comrade Nwaka also stated that while the Governor of the state is busy developing the state, he would be busy developing his local area, being an ambassador of the government at the local level.

 

He said, “We will deepen democracy and make our people feel the impact of the government. While the Governor is developing the state, as his ‘Ambassadors’ at the local government, we will be developing the local government and giving hope to the people.

“People have lost hope in government.We are here to correct whatever has gone wrong in the past. We are here to revive people’s hope and ensure people feel the impact of the government”.

Comrade Nwaka, who has been at the forefront of youth development in Ikwuano Local Government Area, however, assured that he would not relent in bringing the dividend of democracy to the people, while appreciating the Governor for the opportunity to serve his people.
