In a bid to sanitize the popular Isigate axis of the state capital,Umuahia and decongest traffic,Abia State Government has said that it would leave no stone unturned in the plan to relocate traders and illegal motor Parks around the area.

The Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Trade and Commerce, Dr. Chimezie Ukaegbu who disclosed this while interacting with newsmen in his office said government would tackle headlong clusters of Street trading by relocating traders and illegal motor Parks to government approved designated places.

“Governor Otti has already constituted a committee on street trading which would soon be in place. This administration is working to ensure proper harmonization of market taxes in the State.

“We  plan to tar the Ubani market and provide water, electricity, and access roads for the Ubani-Ibeku market. We also plan to fix the Umueze-Agbo-Ubani road while potholes in Uzuakoli road would be filled up”.
