The newly inaugurated PDP Youth Leader in Abia state,Hon Patrick Onwuka has reacted to social media critics who said that he is too old to be elected into the State Working Committee of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party as a Youth leader.
In an interview with National Ambassador, Hon Onwuka stated that any body criticizing him of not being fit for the position of a youth leader,is simply ignorant of the dynamics of politics, adding that the position calls for a mature person thay could stand before the Governor of the state or any other higher authority to speak and make demands for the youth.
He went further to say that how on earth would people be making such statements,bearing in mind that the position involved, is a State position, for a ruling party and not some form of a church, community,ward or LGA youth leadership.
Onwuka maintained that the era of engaging the youth in thuggery and electoral violence was over, as he is coming with full force to initiate ideas that would help change the perception of youths as well as empower them positively.
He, however, stated that the youths in Abia would smile from now henceforth, stating that he would put a stop to all their slogans, which depict war and struggles.
According to him, he would be changing the narrative to be, “Youth – When you are on”, unlike what it used to be before that shows violence, war and fight.

The youth leader further assured Abia youth of a resounding representation,competence and truthful stewardship, adding that he would be going to the Federal Ministry of Youth Affairs in Abuja to salvage opportunities and bring them to Abia.
He called for the support of all and pleaded for a stop in the social media fight about his age, saying that the youth needs a mature youth that can represent them well.
