The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu, has said that transparency and accountability among others core values remains the guiding principles of Governor Alex Otti’s Administration.
Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, who stated this in an event Organized by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), noted that the theme of the event “Promoting Accountability at the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme” is crucial and appropriate in all facets of government across board adding that the significance of transparency and accountability in governance is a what the administration of Governor Alex Otti represents.
“Abia State’s alignment with RoLAC’s objectives underscores its commitment to fostering an environment where integrity and ethical practices thrive, particularly in areas prone to corruption.
“The administration’s willingness to embrace programme such as this is a testament to its dedication to building a transparent and accountable government.
While describing the responsibilities of the Bureau under his watch, Dr. Chukwu, emphasized that the strategic role of the Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau is ensuring that accountability remains at the forefront of Abia State’s procurement processes.
He, further, highlighted the bureau’s ongoing efforts to streamline procurement activities, emphasizing that every contract and tender adheres strictly to due process.
“Our goal is to set a benchmark for others to follow, ensuring that every step taken reflects the integrity and transparency we stand for,” Dr. Chukwu noted.
The Due Process Chief, however, underscores the administration’s focus on creating a more efficient and honest governance system, paving the way for sustainable development and growth in the state reiterating that one of the core principles embedded in Governor Alex Otti’s administration is the promotion of these values across all government sectors.
Earlier in their addresses, the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption (RoLAC), Team Lead, Mr. Danladi Peter Omenka from the Agency’s Chapter in Umuahia, informed that RoLAC, focuses on enhancing the performance and quality of justice delivery by providing specialized training to key personnel involved in governance.
According to them, the event served as a platform to outline the initiative’s activities for the upcoming months, aimed at promoting anti-corruption reforms.
