Gov Otti, South East Govs Converge In Enugu As Sen. John Mbata Emerges Ohaneze Ndigbo President General

 

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, Friday, joined other Governors of Igbo extraction and prominent Igbo leaders in Enugu for the peaceful election of a new leadership for Ohaneze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural body of the Igbo people.

 

The exercise was attended by four South-East Governors and several former Governors, including Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, and Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State.

Also present were former Governor Ikedi Ohakim, Senators Chris Ngige, Ben Obi, Victor Umeh, and other distinguished Igbo personalities.

By consensus, Senator John Mbata from Rivers State emerged as the President-General, succeeding Nze Ozichukwu Chukwu, who had been appointed to complete the tenure of the late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu from Imo State.

In addition, Prince Okey Nwadinobi from Abia State was elected as the National Deputy President, while Chief Emeka Sibeidu from Anambra State was elected as the Secretary-General of the group.
