Brighton condemned Manchester United to their fourth defeat in five league home games with a well-deserved 3-1 victory.
Yankuba Minteh put the visitors ahead as early as the fifth minute, but Bruno Fernandes equalized from the penalty spot.
After the break, Brighton stepped up their game and found the net through Joao Pedro but the goal was chopped off after VAR review for foul on Diogo Dalot in the build up to the goal.
But, the visitors were not done yet. Mitoma won a duel with Noussair Mazraoui in the far post to restore Brighton’s lead.
Onana’s error gifted substitute Georginio Rutter the third goal. This victory was Brighton’s sixth win in seven meetings with Manchester United.
While this result has further brightened Brighton’s chances of qualifying for European competition, it has pegged United on 13th position, seven points behind 10th placed Fulham and 10 points ahead of relegation zone.
