The Cross River State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Johnson Ebokpo, has disclosed that Governor Bassey Otu is championing significant developments and investments in agriculture to position the state as a leading revenue earner in the sector.
The Commissioner made this statement during a technical networking meeting hosted by the state for a delegation of palm oil investors. The delegation was led by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Association of Oil Palm Produce of Nigeria (AOPPN).
As part of the meeting, the investors visited key palm oil plantations in the state, including Wilmar Farms and JB Farms, both located in Akamkpa Local Government Area.
The Cross River State Government reiterated its readiness to welcome additional funders and partners in its pursuit of agricultural development.
Notably, just last week, the state hosted the National Council on Agriculture, bringing together representatives from all states in Nigeria to deliberate on strategies for advancing agricultural development nationwide.
