NDDC Reveals the Importance of Reputation Management in Maintaining a Positive National Image, partners with NIPR

Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has hinted on the importance of engaging on a significant partnership with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR as a tool to foster trust and strengthen the nation’s global image.

NDDC Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, who was represented by the Executive Director, Corporate Services of the Commission, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, disclosed this recently at the commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, when the Chairman of NIPR, Rivers State Chapter, Mr. Francis Asuk, led a delegation on a courtesy visit.

However, he highlighted the importance of reputation management and the critical role NIPR plays in maintaining a positive national image; maintaining that a well-managed reputation could only attract international investments,while the opposite will pave way for a negative image which is capable of deterring potential investors.

Hon. Abegunde, also charged the committee to formalise its partnership proposal with the NDDC.

Moreso, the Chairman of NIPR Rivers State, Mr. Francis Asuk, announced that their visit at the commission was to discuss the upcoming NIPR 2024 Week; adding that the image managers were focusing on the theme: “Rebuilding National Reputation through Business Integrity and Public Trust.”

Asuk, observed that the upcoming NIPR Week would not be complete without the participation and sponsorship of the NDDC. He emphasised the aptness of the programme’s theme and stressed the crucial role the NDDC could play to enhance the relationship between the oil-rich Niger Delta region and the Federal Government.

He, expressed confidence that the NDDC’s involvement would significantly contribute to rebuilding the nation’s reputation; owing to the fact that the meeting was highly productive, with Abegunde expressing a strong interest in forming a strategic partnership between the NDDC and NIPR.
