The Mayor, Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA), Dame Ngozi Nwagbara (Ph.D), has approved the disbandment and removal of all revenue collection agents and points within the area.
In a letter signed by the Mayor, addressed to all the security agencies, traditional rulers, Councilors, community leaders among others, and made available to newsmen today, she noted with disappointment several illegal activities on Ukwa-East LGA roads on the guise of revenue collection, adding that such are capable of bringing the council to disrepute.
She directed security operatives to arrest and prosecute any person found posing as revenue collection agent including bunkering activities for Ukwa-East LGA.
Dr. Nwagbara also enjoined the people of Ukwa-East to continue to be peaceful and go about their normal businesses, adding that Gov. Alex Chioma Otti is committed to protecting lives and property of all Abians.
