ABSG Flags off Okeikpe-Akwaete-Ohambele-Akwa Ibom state NDDC road project

Abia State government has flagged off the second phase of the Oke ikpe-Akwaete -Ohambele – Akwa Ibom State NDDC road construction.

Speaking during the flagging off of the project in Akwaete , Ukwa East LGA, the state Governor Alex Otti who was represented by his Deputy Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, prayed for a safe and accident free environment, while the construction work lasted.

Speaking Earlier, the Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission ( NDDC) Dr Samuel Ogbuku said the road project is one of the NDDC Commitment to make a difference and make life easier for the populace, particularly those who ply Abia and Akwa Ibom States.

He described the project as very strategic and important as it does not only connect Abia people to Akwa Ibom but also the people of Portharcout in Rivers State.

This project when completed will reduce the cost goods and services and also boost trade and commence in the state, NDDC is committed to ensuring that this project is achieved in a record time “, the NDDC boss assured.
