Port Harcourt residents are expecting so much from governor Siminalaye Fubura now that the legal battle is over. Speaking with our reporters, some residents told the governor to get the job done in all fronts. The youths are hinging on creation of employment opportunities to have them employed and expect accelerated development in all the Local Government Areas of the state. The people however ask the governor to begin to roll up projects that will stimulate economic growth.
A spare parts dealer in the Ikeoku spear parts market in Port Harcourt Abel Njoku told our reporters that both history, nature and God has put governor Fubara in that position to turn around the destiny of Rivers State and he shouldn’t miss that opportunity, if not, even history that has given him accidental governorship which he didn’t plan or campaign for, will not forgive but purnish him more than Wike.
Speaking with Benjamin Anderson, a youth secretary of Elelenwo community, he said much is expected from Governor Fubara as he has the full executive functions. He said the governor should go across the rural area and forget about the Port Harcourt City and Obio/ Akpor that is already in good shape. He said the rural area needs to be developed so that rural urban migration will reduced a little bit in the state. Mr. Anderson also encourage the governor to create job for the teaming youths in Rivers State. He however appeal to the Rivers State governor to forgive the Ikwerri people because it is not all the Ikwerri people that are against him. He urge the governor to look forward and deliver.
On his part, an elder state man Ejims Wobo said they expect governor Fubara to appoint some commissioner and special adviser to help elevate the system. He further explained that the governor need officers that will be around him to advice him properly and accordingly and also encourage him so that the government will move forward.
