Committee on 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Celebration Day Inaugurated

A 12 man Committee on 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Celebration Day has been inaugurated with a charge to put in their best for a successful 2024, Armed Forces Remembrance Celebration Day.

 

Inaugurating the Committee, at the conference room, office of the SSG, the Governor Dr. Alex Otti said that the essence of the annual observance, ultimately lies in honoring the courage, resilience and ultimate sacrifice of those in the armed forces,he therefore called on the Committee Members to come up with useful ideas and suggestions towards archiving a successful celebration.

 

 

The Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu who pointed out that the committee has dual responsibilities of planning and executing a memorable launching of the Emblem which comes up on the 14th of this month and that of a successful celebration of 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Celebration Day to be held in January next year, charged them to bring their wealth of experience to bear to achieve the desired purpose.

Contributing, the State chairman, Nigeria Legion, Ambrose Nnabugwu thanked the State Government for the procurement of the Emblem while enumerating some of the activities lined up for the event, stressing that emphasis is on the significance of honouring the fallen heroes and supporting the welfare of veterans, war widows and dependents.

 

The members of the Committee are, Professor Kenneth Kalu, as Chairman, Uma Ibem as Secretary , others include Commander Mac Donald Uba Rtd, member, Ambrose Nnabugwu, member and Maj Inuwa, member.Lt Cdr B.Gwandi, member, Wng Cdr Ukanwa, member,Cps Ken Nwosu, member and Maj(Rev)Su Umunnah, member.
