The people of Ezeleke Community, Umuopara clan, in Umuahia South Local Government Area have extolled the member representing t red. Jerry Uzosike for his quality representation.
Hon.Uzosike through his charity organization known as Ogechi Cares, is building a 3bedroom bungalow for an indigent old man and a native of the community.
Performing the foundation laying ceremony of the building today, the traditional ruler of the community, Eze G.C. Ibeakanma described Hon. Uzosike’s representation of the constituency as unique and commendable.
He assured him of his support and that of his subjects pointing out that his kind gesture towards his constituents is worthy of emulation.
While Fielding questions from newsmen, the lawmaker, who is also the Grand Commander of Ogechi Cares Organization said it’s a nonpolitical organization set up to reachout to his constituents adding that they have embarked on several humanitarian projects across his constitutency which housing project is paramount in all.
Hon. Uzosike, further disclosed that the organization is sponsored by various members and stakeholders of the organization scattered across the country and abroad adding that they are targeting 10 building projects across his constitutency before 2023.
Also speaking, the Commander, Ogechi Cares organization, Central Africa chapter and one of the sponsors of the projects, Mr. Ikechukwu Iheuwa, said he was led to support the vision behind the organization’s charity project because of love for his people noting that he never believed that a State lawmaker could embark on such humanitarian and capital intensive projects.
Meanwhile, a former lawmaker from Umuahia South, Hon. Max Ndukwe Adindu, lauded Hon. Uzosike for the gesture and urged him to keep on the good works.
Also, the beneficiary, Mr. Dickson Nwosu expressed delight and gratitude to God for using Hon. Uzosike to relieve his major burden and prayed God to bless him and the stakeholders of the Ogechi Cares organization.
The major highlight of the event is the donation of 10bags of rice to the women of Ezeleke Community by Mr. Iheuwa.
The event attracted the presence of many political stakeholders and community leaders in the constituency.
