Wife of Abia Governor Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu
The Wife of Abia Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu has called on the body of Deputy Transition Committee Chairmen in the state to complement their Chairmen to ensure equitable distribution of palliatives in the local governments to ameliorate the effects of hardship occassioned by the lock down due to the novel corona virus pandemic.
The Governor’s wife made the call in a meeting with the body of deputy TC Chairmen in her Government House Office in Umuahia.
According to her, “this is the first time we are meeting since the outbreak of corona virus and I charge you to be at unity with your boss to ensure equitable distribution of palliatives as given to you by the state”.
She emphasized the need for everyone to maintain social distancing, wearing face mask, washing hands with soap under running water and regular use of hand sanitizer as advised by health experts.
In her speech, the leader of the team, Mrs. Ezinwanyi Jonah, of Obingwa Local Government Area said they came to show solidarity to the good work the Governor and his wife were doing in the state especially at this pandemic period.
“As deputy TC Chairmen we have been following your footsteps to show love especially sharing palliatives to people in need of it in this pandemic and as well say thank you for being the inspiration through which we were appointed” Ezinwanyi said.
Contributing, the Deputy TC of Ukwa East LGA, Chief Rowland Omoni, advocates that more women should be appointed into positions especially in the local council for they play vital role in this area.
