Youths in Cross River State have vowed to make the State unsafe for criminals, in line with that the youths of Nyagasang Community in Calabar Municipal Local Government Area exhibited the act and rescued Mrs Caroline Bassey and apprehended hoodlums that came to kidnap her.
It was gathered that the kidnappers who came to the victim’s house with a Toyota Camry in pretence that they came to hire chairs from the victim ended up kidnapping her while they tied her assistant up and put her in a Freezer.
Unfortunately for the kidnappers, as they were about to drive out with the victim’s car a neighbour saw them and blocked them.
In a bid to join other members in the victim’s car, two members in the Camry came down and the neighbour hit one with his Toyota Hilux while the other one was caught by the youths in the area.
An alarm was raised and the State Security Adviser South, Commander Patrick Odiong and the Divisional Police Officer Federal Housing were notified and with swift coordination of their men and other Security Agencies, the rest of the kidnappers were apprehended along Akamkpa axis, while the victim regained back her freedom.
With the arrest of the kidnappers, the youths hope that useful information will be extracted from them that will lead to the arrest of others.
