YOUTH COUNCIL ABIA EXECUTIVES PAY COURTESY VISIT TO COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

The newly elected Executive Members of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Abia State Chapter, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, at the Police Headquarters, Bende Road, Umuahia.

The visit, which was aimed at officially introducing the new leadership of the Council to the state police authority, also served as a platform to outline the Council’s agenda and forge stronger collaboration in tackling crime and social vices across the state.

Speaking during the meeting, State Chairman of OYC, Comrade Eugene Okonta, expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s prior support but voiced his disappointment over the absence of police presence during the recently concluded state convention and election of the Council, despite formal communication and assurances.

Comrade Okonta went on to unveil the Council’s 2025 agenda, which includes a robust partnership with security agencies to combat criminal activities, particularly in vulnerable communities. He pledged OYC’s support in intelligence gathering and public sensitization as part of their contribution to a safer Abia State.
