You Need Other Contestants, Work With Them To Succeed, Abia D.Gov. Tasks Akpata

 

 

The Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu has charged the Edo State Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Olumide Akpata to extend a hand of fellowship to other aspirants who contested with him during the Labour Party Governorship Primary Elections held yesterday, Friday, 23rd February, 2024.

The Abia State Deputy Governor in his capacity as the Chairman of the Edo State, Labour Party Governorship Primary Elections and Chief Returning Officer, thanked other aspirants for their spirit of sportsmanship and conduct during the election.

He further advised Barr Olumide Akpata to ensure the involvement of other aspirants in his General Campaign Council to give them a sense of belonging that will afford them the opportunity to contribute their quota towards the victory of the Party in the General Election come September 2024.

In their reactions, some observers and party faithfuls lauded the exercise, nothing that the Governorship Primary Election was conducted in a most transparent, unbiased, free and fair manner.

Responding after being declared the winner, Barr Olumide Akpata thanked all the party men and delegates who believed in his vision, capacity and commitment to fly the party’s flag at the General Elections.

He enjoined everyone to support his candidature towards a resounding victory for the Party at the polls, while promising to work with everyone for the betterment of Edo State when elected Governor.

Barr Olumide Akpata, a former National Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, polled a total of 316 votes to emerge the winner of the Labour Party Governorship Primary Elections exercise in Edo State.
