The secretary to the state government, prof Kenneth Kalu made this known when members of Inyom Abam Onyerubi Development Union Home and Abroad, paid him a courtesy visit in his office, commended them for their meaningful contributions to the development of Abam Community.
Prof Kalu disclosed that the women scholarship scheme which is set up and fully sponsored by him is a show of his passion for women, especially, his mother whom he said was a source of inspiration and blessing to him.
The SSG commended them for coming up with a well organized union, enjoined them to always be an embodiment of peace and unity while assuring them of his maximum support and assistance.
The Chief Scribe of the State who enumerated some of the developmental strides by the present administration for the Abam people, urged them to reciprocate the good gesture by their continued support to the present administration.
In his good will message, the general manager, Abia Newspapers and publishing corporation, Hon Jones Nnanna Ike, commended them for creating a platform where their voices could be heard, enjoined them to use the platform as a channel of blessings to others.
One of the stake holders in Abam community, Eng. Paul Awa, thanked the members of Inyom Abam Onyerubi Development Union Home and Abroad for their visit and promised them of his assistance.
Earlier in her speech, the president, Inyom Abam Onyerubi Development Union,Home and Abroad, lady Nne Ukaike Ukeh, said that the essence of the visit was to intimate the SSG, pro Kenneth Kalu, of their newly constituted Union set out to foster peace,unity and progress.
While enumerating the aims and objectives of the union to include, to support our girl child and the youth by way of partnership with individuals and NGOs, to support the widows and aged with different categories of empowerment,to promote the social and cultural values of Inyom Abam Onyerubi Development Union, among others, lady Uke used the forum to invite the SSG to their August meeting coming up in August.
