We’re Seeing The Difference, Peter Obi Applauds Visible Progress Under Otti’s Leadership

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, has commended the achievements of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, describing his two years in office as “two years with a difference”.

Speaking at a Special Anniversary Sabbath Service held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Aguiyi Ironsi Layout Umuahia, Obi said Otti’s visible performance makes it unnecessary for media hype.

We have come to celebrate two years with a difference. People have always said that they need eight years, they need ten years, they need twenty years. But I’ve always said on day can make a difference.

“Everybody is seeing it in Abia. You don’t need to tune the radio. You don’t need people to tell you. There’s a difference. And that’s what we’re celebrating today,” Obi stated.

He urged Nigerians to pray for leaders, especially those trying to serve the people genuinely, like Governor Otti.

“It is difficult to govern Nigeria, especially when you want to do it right. Continue to remember the Governor and the Commissioners, those who are helping him, in prayers. Do the same thing for Nigeria.

“That God should touch all of us who are leaders. Touch our hearts to use public money for public good. It is not our money. We are just trustees. Like it’s happening in Abia. We want it to happen everywhere in Nigeria.

“When I say to people, I’m not desperate to be a president. I’m desperate to see Nigeria walk. We want future leaders like him (Governor Otti)”, Peter Obi stated.

In his speech at the Sabbath service, the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, credited God as the driving force behind his administration’s achievements, as the state marked two years of under his leadership.

Governor Otti said all progress made would have been impossible without divine backing.

“I think it’s 1 Corinthians 3, verse 6, I’m going up to verse 7, and it says, I planted, Apollo’s watered, but God gave the increase.

“And verse 7 goes further to say, neither he who planted is anything, nor he who watered, but God who gave the increase.

“So because we recognize that everything we have done is of the Lord and is God’s assuredness, so we return all the thanks to him”, Governor Otti said.

He thanked all government officials, including those in the legislative and judicial arms, for their support for the “New Abia” project and also appreciated Mr. Peter Obi for his consistent encouragement.
