It is a great concern and worries for traders at Good Morning market Aba, as there’s no week that passes without traders experiencing attacks from hoodlums. Speaking with our correspondent, Mr Masiri Mula, a tomato seller narrated how he was saved from bullet wound while his customer lost her life from the assailants gun shot during one of their attacks in market. “The incident happened around 3.15 pm on that fateful day. “As we where doing our normal business transactions, suddenly hoodlums arrived in their numbers ranging from 5 to 10 able bodied men, attacking both buyers and sellers, it was God who saved me on that unforgettable day, but one of my customers wasn’t fortunate enough as she died after being shot by the robbers. “The criminals where ransacking everywhere and made away with our; valuables, money and phones.” Masiri lamented. According to Mula, there was no security operative around. “Before any help could come, the bandits have unleashed their mayhem on us and exited through Orji Uzor Bridge near the market.” He queried. Traders at the market are calling on Abia State government to come to their rescue by stationing security operatives in the market to forestall regular occurrence of these dastardly acts of hoodlums terrorising the market.
