A stakeholder in Oyibo Local Government Area Victor Opute says despite the neglect of Oyibo by successful administration in Rivers state, the people of the area will actively participate in this years general election.

Mr Opute who is the president of the Movement Of Oyibo Ethnic Nationality stated this in an interview with our reporter.

” there will not be any voters apathy in Oyibo. And of course we should not be undermined by anybody coming in as a governor or president or whosoever political position that we are going to vote for, because we have woke up from toxicity. Whoever that is coming in as a governor especially is going to be confronted with the issues of general hospital here in Oyibo. Oyibo Ethnic Nationality also needed a university, a tertiary institution.
And of course we will not appreciate any government until all roads in Oyibo is dualize” he stated.

He however called on governor Nyesom Wike to complete the ongoing road projects in the area and install speed breakers on the completed ones, to reduce the rate of accidents.

” the governor of Rivers state promised to build old Port Harcourt Aba Road , the road is up to 80% completion. The road is suppose to be double coated, it has not been done. We are also expecting that the government must put a speed breaker on that road because of the level of accident involving school children. And Umusi at Eleme road is also between 60% done. These are the roads that the governor promised Oyibo people ” he stated.
