We’ll Enshrine A People Oriented Governance, Engr. Emetu Assures The Anglican Communion

Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu has said that Governor Alex Otti’s led Government is trying its best to bring solutions to some of the liabilities and problems met on inception.

Engr Emetu, stated this when he received a delegation of the Anglican Communion led by the Bishop, Diocese of Isiala Ngwa Church of Nigeria paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Umuahia.

He said that the present administration is committed to its resolve to enshrine a people-oriented governance that will carry the Church along and effect positive change in the State.

Emetu noted that, having recognized the rough phase Abia has passed through,

The Deputy Governor reassured that Abians will continue to enjoy new lease of life from their purposeful leadership and expressed joy that though Government is up to date in the payment of workers’ salaries, concerted efforts are going on to ensure that the backlog of salaries of some workers and pensioners inherited are addressed.

He recalled that the Church in line with its spiritual mandate has always been open to the administration of good governance, enjoined them not to hesitate to always speak truth to power to enable them deliver on their mandate to the people.

In his remarks earlier, the Bishop, Diocese of Isiala Ngwa Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, The RT Rev Temple Nwogu extolled the Dr Alex Otti’s led Govt for the much they have achieved few months of being in power and expressed optimism that they will change the developmental narratives in Abia if they continue in this trajectory.

The RT Rev Nwogu who used the visit to congratulate them on their landslide victory at the polls assured Govt of the continued partnership of the Anglican Church in the State, invited the Deputy Governor to their forthcoming second Session of their 6th Synod and promised not to relent in praying for the success of the present administration.

The visit featured presentation of the Bible to the Deputy Governor and Special prayer sessions for God to equip and strengthen Governor Alex Otti’s led administration to enable them to lift the State to greater height
