Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, has said that the present administration in the State appointed tested technocrats and successful businessmen that understands the real essence of coming into governance in a bid to realize its vision of making Abia great again.
Engr Emetu, also said the drive to industrialize Abia State using the 17 Local Government Areas as working templates, also remains a task that must be accomplished to achieve the new Abia mantra.
Engr Emetu who stated this when he received a delegation of Iyom Ohafia, Umuahia branch who paid him a courtesy visit at his Government House lodge, Umuahia, reiterated the preparedness of Gov. Otti to embark on developmental projects and create positive impact on lives of people at the grassroots.
The Deputy Governor used the visit to reassure the people of Ohafia that temporary measures have been intensified to ensure that electricity supply is restored, especially during this Yuletide, while a comprehensive cost of full restoration of Ohafia electricity project will be captured in next year’s budget.
He enjoined Ohafia people to remain the progressive and united front they have always been identified with and promised to always partner them to enable them realize their needs, while appreciating Iyom Ohafia for their overwhelming support that ensured their success at the polls.
In her speech earlier, the President, Iyom Ohafia, Umuahia branch, Elder Evang. Christiana Okoro disclosed that the people of Ohafia have always embarked on developmental projects in their communities through their various Age Grade community development efforts and appealed to Government to attract the much needed developmental projects to the area.
Elder Okoro expressed gratitude to God for bringing Governor Alex Otti and their son, the Deputy Governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu into governance and appealed that their children be gainfully employed as well as restore electricity supply to Ohafia which has lingered for years and Express optimism that their son will live up to expectations.
