Stakeholders of the Peoples’ Democractic Party PDP, Abia State Chapter has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Okezie Ikpeazu saying that they would support the Governor in charting the direction towards the emergence of a worthy flagbearer for the Governorship position come 2023.
The PDP stakeholders made their position known in a well attended meeting of members of the party in Abia State comprising the State Working Committee, State Executive Committee Members, Local Government Committee Members of the party and Principal Officers of the 184 Wards in the State.
In a Communique issued at the end of their meeting held at the International Conference Centre Umuahia, the stakeholders thanked Governor Ikpeazu for his resolve to ensure that the party Governorship candidate for 2023 general election emerges through the decision of the party.
They further commended the Governor for his decision that the Leadership and Ward leadership of the PDP would participate in charting the direction towards the emergence of a worthy flagbearer of the party.
Part of the five point communique issued by the Party reads: “We shall mobilize all party resources to work for the success of our party’s candidates in the general election come 2023.
“That we shall work in harmony for the overall success of the party”.
While reiterating their implicit confidence and support in the Okezie Ikpeazu administration,the PDP stakeholders urged all party faithfuls to move in line with party custom to cue behind their candidates at all levels to guarantee their victory at the polls come 2023.
The PDP stakeholders meeting was attended by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, PDP Chairman, Asiforo Okere, Secretary to the State Governor, Barr Chris Ezem, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof ACB Agbazuere, members of the state executive council, Former PDP Chairman,Chief Tony Ukasoanya among other major stakeholders of the party.
