We will not tolerate any form of enchroachment- Abia Govt

The Six man Committee set up by the Abia State Government to investigate encroachment of Government Land in public schools by individuals and organizations has swung into action with a fact finding visit to Amakama Primary School, Amakama Olokoro, Umuahia South LGA.
Speaking to journalists after inspecting a new building being constructed in the premises of Amakama Primary School,the Chairman of the Committee and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. ACB Agbazuere said the committee has started investigation to address enchroachment of government lands in schools with a view to deliver within the stipulated time.
He warned that government will henceforth not tolerate any form of encroachment in it’s properties as offenders will be made to face the full weight of the law.
Agbazuere who visited the school in company of some of the committee members including the Commissioner for Lands,Suileman Ukandu ,further said,”the only message we want to send out now is that any person,anywhere that feels he or she has the capacity to enchroach on any land aqcuired by government should surrender in a very short period immediately or whatever the person sees,he or she would take.
“If anybody has any group to fear, it should be God and government. If anybody wants to pretend that he does not know the capacity and sagacity of government,the person should know that he or she is attempting suicide.
 
“Not just for Amakama, anywhere in the state that anybody is enchroaching on government land,the person is advised to surrender”.
 
According to the Chief of staff,the investigation of government property will be a regular exercise across the state.
Recall that the committee which was inuagurated recently by the state government is charged with the investigation of encroachment and construction works at Amakama  Primary school in Umuahia south LGA and other public schools and has one week to complete their assignment and report back to government with recommendations for necessary action.
