We did not sack the Environmental Sanitation Mobile Court, ASEPA reacts.
The Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) Deputy General Manager in charge of Umuahia Zone Catechist Ambrose Jonah
has said that the officers of his Agency did not sack any environmental sanitation mobile court in Umuahia, as alleged.
This is even as the Head of Monitoring, ASEPA Umuahia zone Mr. Nwagbara Macaulay has also confirmed that no arrested sanitation offender was released from the court by ASEPA
Reacting on a report that the Agency desecrated the environmental sanitation mobile court yesterday in a statement after monitoring Abia State Environmental Clean up exercise for the month of May in Umuahia, Catachist Jonah explained that officers of ASEPA who were at the Ministry of Environment were only asked to leave the premises of the Ministry after a misunderstanding allegedly broke out between the officers of ASEPA and those of Ministry of Environment.
The Deputy General Manager of ASEPA said that there was prior agreement between the ministry of environment and ASEPA that all Sanitation defaulted arrested by the ASEPA should be brought in prosecuted at the mobile court in the ministry of environment by the ASEPA.
He said that agreement was not honour by the Abia State Ministry of environment and he only directed his men to leave the Ministry with the buses they hired, emphasizing that the court was never invaded nor offenders freed by ASEPA.
