Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has said that his adminstration is irrevocably committed to changing the narrative of Aba, the commercial nerve centre in the area of Infrastructural development.
The Governor who stated this, Tuesday, at Port Harcourt Road, Aba during his statewide Project Inspection tagged “KINETIC ABIA PROJECT TOUR”,vowed not to leave any stone unturned in reclaiming the lost glory of the Enyimba city.
Gov Ikpeazu who recalled that the Portharcourt road was flagged off in-company of his Ebonyi State Counterpart,Governor Dave Umahi restated that the project is financed solely by the Abia State Government without any federal government intervention.
Governor Ikpeazu said that his aim of opening up roads in Aba is to decongest traffic as well as create a conducive atmosphere for trade and commerce to thrive in the state.
According to the Governor ,Portharcourt road would be constructed in six lanes with three street lights in each of the lanes and promised that the Project contractor would work in line with specification to deliver a quality job.
He said that the negative propaganda by the opposition will not deter him from delivering the best for Aba residents and urged them to exercise patience as he will work tirelessly for the timely completion of all roads embarked upon by his administration.
Also inspecting the progress of work Ngwa road, Governor Ikpeazu equally promised that before the raining season sets in properly, the entire stretch of Ngwa road would be completely recovered.
He described as false the claims in some quarters that the federal government is responsible for financing some road Projects especially the Osusu road ,noting that his administration started and finished the reconstruction of Osusu road as well as other road Projects in the state.
On the 27th March Aba North and South federal constituency Bye-Election,Governor Ikpeazu said the greatest encouragement that the people of Aba could give him in appreciation for what he is doing is for them to troop out enmass and cast their votes to the PDP candidate Mr Chimaobi Ebisike.
