Nigerian players came against themselves today in the English Premier League when Leicester City took on Watford.
Wilfred Ndidi played all 90 minutes, while his teammate Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute. On the opposing side, William Troost-Ekong played all 90 minutes while Emmanuel Dennis played for 70 minutes.
Emmanuel Dennis scored Watford’s second goal but his side was defeated 4-2.
James Maddison’s 16th minute goal gave the home side the lead but, Joshua King equalized via penalty, after Ndidi’s clumsy tackle on his compatriot, Emmanuel Dennis.
Vardy’s brace gave the Foxes a comfortable 3-1 lead into the break.
Watford, now coached by Claudio Ranieri, who helped the Foxes win their first ever league title in the 2015/2016 season, raised hopes of a remarkable comeback when Emmanuel Dennis scored Watford’s second goal.
But, Lookman confirmed Leicester City’s victory with his sides fourth goal.
This victory has catapulted Leicester City from 13th to ninth while Watford are still 16th, just four points above the relegation zone.
