The governorship race of the All Progressives Congress (APC), guber candidate in Abia State, Dr Uchechukwu Ogah, may suffer another set back as his kinsmen have unanimously declared they will not vote him come March 2.
Already the APC guber candidate is having a heat following his incessant court cases with Chief Ikechi Emenike of the Emmanuel Ndukwe led faction of the APC, who is contesting Ogah ‘s candidature, saying he(Emenike) is the guber candidate in Abia.
Ogah’ kinsmen who spoke with us during a function in Isuikwuato Local Government Area, said Ogah should not alter the Abia charter of equity that makes for a rotational system of government,saying that since it is the turn of Abia South,nobody should be a stumbling block,adding that Isuikwuato stands for equity therefore the people should support equity.
Chief Emmanuel Ibegbulam,in his words ” Ogah should go and wait till 2023, he cannot be the governor now”.
He said when it was the turn of Abia North where Orji Uzor Kalu took as the governor for eight years,other blocs supported them,stressing that now that it is the turn of Abia South,everyone should support them,with Isuikwuato inclusive.
Ibegbulam maintained that Isuikwuato stands for equity and Ogah should not alter it with his ambition.
Dr Kate Maduakor said the battle will be tough but she believes God will see the PDP through,adding that Ogah can only get their votes when he waits till 2023.
She said the incumbent governor,Dr Okezie Ikpeazu deserves their votes with his numerous projects in the state, maintaining that Isuikwuato people should give him their votes because it is the first time a large number of Isuikwuato sons and daughters would be given appointive positions.
Navy capt,Chris Osondu retd, called on Isuikwuato people to cast their votes for the PDP government for the purpose of continuity, pointing out that Isuikwuato people is being included in the scheme of things,and they should not allow the dividend of democracy elude them by playing anti party politics.
Kaodichukwu Onuoha PDP Aspirant for the Isuikwuato state Constituency in the House of Assembly, Ugoeze Osuoha Isuikwuato PDP woman Leader and Chief Chinedu Igboko Isuikwuato PDP chairman,in their separate speeches, condemned the refusal of Ogah to step down for Okezie Ikpeazu,calling on all Isuikwuato indigenes to vote for the incumbent governor as he is a project that is ongoing.
