Viral video: Governor’s aide exonerates self, state govt,calls for security action

Abia State Focal person for Social Investment N-power Programme of the Federal Government, Mr Chinenye Nwogu has exonated himself and the Abia state government from the video trending online where he was alledged to have purportedly sent some persons to deliver National Assembly and Presidential election result written in favour of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) .

Nwogu who is also an aide to governor Okezie Ikpeazu while describing the incident as a scam, blackmail and disheartening,called on security agencies in the State to do a thorough investigation with the view of bringing the perpetrators to book.

Addressing journalists at Government House Umuahia,in company of the state Commissioner for information, John Okiyi Kalu, Nwogu revealed that on a text was purportedly sent from the office of the Special Adviser to the president on N-POWER asking beneficiaries of the programme to come for a head count at a campaign office of one the APC Gubernatorial candidates in the state.

He said a call was put across to the presidency which confirmed that no such meetings was to be held
adding that Mr Felix Obisike and one Gaius who are Npower ambassadors were unlucky when they visited the venue of the meeting and were beaten as well as forced on gun point to agree to own the typewritten result sheets.

Nwaogu said when he was alerted,he put across to the DSS in the state on the development.

He called on security agencies in the state to as a matter of urgency wade into the matter for appropriate actions adding that he would seek redress once the DSS is through with investigations.
