Valencia Fire Coach

Spanish side, Valencia have fired their coach, Marcelino, who qualified them for the UEFA Champions League in the past two seasons after they finished fourth in the Spanish La Liga.

When he joined the club in 2017, Valencia had finished 12th in the previous two seasons.

Marcelino, who formerly managed Villarreal and Sevilla helped Valencia win their first trophy in 11 years as they won the Copa del Rey last season.

Former Barcelona mid fielder, Celades have been appointed to manage the club till 2021. He oversaw yesterday’s training session.

His baptism of fire will come this weekend against La Liga defending champions, Barcelona.

Valencia will play Chelsea on Tuesday in their opening match of the UEFA Champions League.
