Update your skills in the act of social media use- See who said this

Information Officers in Abia State have been charged to update their knowledge and skills in the act of using the social media to propagate the activities, programmes and policies of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr. Eze Chikamnayo gave the charge during a One Day Capacity Building organised for the Information Officers in the State held at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia. He said there is now a paradigm shift to social media as information management has gone beyond analog to digital, adding that the traditional media does not have the kind of reach the social media has. He said that there is need for the officers to expand their reach and publish on those social media platforms

Dr. Chikamnayo explained that the essence of the One Day Capacity Building was to bring all Information Officers up to date on how to make effective use of all the various social media platforms in the onerous task of publicising government policies and programmes. He said the job of publicizing government activities, programmes are the responsibilities of the officers.

The Commissioner, who explained that REBUILDER365 is a campaign strategy outlined to showcase on social media, the achievements of Abia State government under the innovative leadership of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, tasked the officers to key into the campaign with vigour as the Governor has performed excellently in government.

He expressed confidence that the Information Officers would perform beautifully and assured that government would continue to do its beat to make them comfortable as they discharge their duties.
