Abia State Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has attributed his success in his political career to his unwavering faith in God, made manifest through thanksgiving and acknowledging His Mercies.
Sir Oko Chukwu who stated this during a Special Thanksgiving Service held in his honour at the Mater Dei Cathedral, Azikiwe road, Umuahia as part of activities marking his 60th birthday celebration said he has never taken for granted the love and Grace of God upon his life and family, hence his resolve to do all he can to be in the forefront of championing the growth and propagation of the Gospel.
The Deputy Governor pointed out that the celebration of another added Year to his life is quite remarkable despite all the challenges and uncertainty that come with life in politics and governance and promised to always be a shinning example and mentor to upcoming youths in the State and Nation at large.
Sir Oko Chukwu who also worshipped at the CKC Parish, World Bank, Umuahia where he joined the former Commissioner for SME, Dr Geb Igboko on the birthday of his wife, Dr Mrs Obioma Igboko thanked the Church for their show of love and prayers for him, promised to continue to identify with the Parish in all their developmental projects and prayed God to continue to grant his birthday mate, Dr Mrs Obioma Igboko well in all their endeavours.
In their various homilies, the Matei Dei Cathedral Administrator, The Rev Father David Aguleri and the Resident Priest of CKC Parish, World Bank, Umuahia, The Rev Father Donatus Okon who reminded Christians that God condemns hypocrisy, warned them against using careless talks to bring down others, but should rather correct in love and appreciated God for His Grace in the lives of the celebrants especially in preserving them to witness another glorious year.
The Service which featured special song rendition by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Lady Vivien Oko Chukwu attracted the presence of members of the State Executive Council, present and past legislators, the State Head of Service, Local Govt Chairmen, PDP Chieftains and Elder Statesmen among others graced the Thanksgiving Service.
