The General Manager, Abia State Environmental Protection Agency(ASEPA) Umuahia Central, Mr. Eze Okwuleghi, has promised that in less than 3, months the state capital Umuahia, would become one of the cleanest state capital in the country.
Eze, made the promise as he supervises and conduct his task force team round about the state capital to ensure total compliance of all living in the capital city to participate in the state wide environmental cleanliness.
According to him, “the state government under the leadership of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has provided fund for us to achieve the goal of keeping the state capital clean and we are not relenting, we have made announcements and carried out jingles in various media organisations in terms of sensitizing the public on the need for all to join hand together to keep the environment clean “.
“These are the little we can do for ourselves not just to keep our environment and surrounding clean, it will also improve our health and lifestyle, so any one found defaulting the directive would be adequately prosecuted in the environmental court as set up by the state government” he said.
