Ultimum Expands Reach with New Beverage Plant in Aba

Ultimum Limited, a growing player in Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector and producer of the Razzl range of carbonated soft drinks, will on Wednesday, March 25, commission a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Aba, Abia State.

Located within the Osisioma industrial cluster, the facility will serve as the primary production hub for Razzl beverages, currently offered in four variants — Pamplemousse, Cola, Orange and Lemon. Company officials say the plant is equipped with modern technology designed to ensure efficiency, product consistency and compliance with international quality standards.

The new factory is expected to enhance product availability across Nigeria’s South-East and South-South regions, as well as other parts of the country. It is also projected to generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs spanning technical, administrative and distribution roles, while supporting local suppliers, logistics firms and other businesses within the Razzl value chain.

Speaking at a pre-commissioning briefing, Ultimum Limited’s Managing Director, Austin Ufomba, described the investment as a demonstration of the company’s confidence in Nigeria’s industrial capacity.

“Our purpose is to consistently produce world-class beverages that refresh Nigerians while meeting the highest standards of quality, safety and taste,” he said.
Ufomba added that the facility would enable large-scale production, strengthen community development and set new benchmarks for manufacturing excellence.

“We are proud to be a Nigerian company with African roots, well positioned to meet consumer needs and preferences,” he said.

A distributor, Kelechi Offor, noted that access to the factory has improved following rehabilitation work on Adaelu Road leading to the site, an intervention he attributed to the Abia State government led by Alex Otti. He said improved infrastructure would support production and bring wider economic benefits to the Osisioma industrial area and the state at large.

Offor added that the company’s decision to begin operations before seeking government assistance underscores its commitment and long-term vision, including plans to serve broader African markets from the Aba base.
