The Executive chairman of Ukwa East Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Chuks Wabara has flagged off the distribution of fertilizers to Ukwa East farmers through the various Councilors within the Council.
In a statement made available to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the LG Boss, Mr. Azubuike Precious, Hon Wabara, commended the Abia state Govermor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for always supporting the people of Ukwa East people, adding that his administration will continue to work hard to deliver the dividends of democracy to the grassroot.
He disclosed that the fertilizers distribution through farmers associations and Councilors of various wards in Ukwa-East and supervised by the Department of agriculture and natural resources in the local Government council, was to ensure that the real farmers were reached.
The chairman who further urged farmers to make utmost use of the farm inputs, maintained that his administration has always provided support to the farmers in order to ensure food security within the area.
He charged councilors and farmers association, to distribute the farm inputs evenly without any form of discrimination.
