The Mayor, Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA) Abia state, Dame Ngozi Nwagbara (Ph.D) has lauded Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for his efforts at retrofitting 17 LG Councils across the state.
Fielding questions from National Ambassador in her office, Akwete-Ndoki Abia state recently, the council boss disclosed that the Abia state Governor, Dr. Otti has shown capacity through his developmental strides across the state within few months in office.
She lamented that Ukwa-East LG headquarters has been in shambles before the ongoing retrofitting of the council by Gov. Otti through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Dr. Nwagbara who further revealed that Gov. Otti-led administration would soon commence projects like: Health centres, schools and road constructions among others in Ukwa-East LGA, maintained that Abians are blessed having Otti has their Governor.
She also disclosed that Obeaku-Ndoki bridge that collapsed five years ago has been fixed, while the Obohia Motor Park and Ohambele skill acquisition centre have been retrofitted and functional, courtesy of Ukwa-East LG Council.
She urged the people of the area to continue to support the administration of Gov. Otti to provide more democracy dividends for them, noting that Obohia – Aba Road would soon be reconstructed to ease human and vehicular movement in the area.
On the perennial lack of electricity in Ukwa-East LGA, the Council boss revealed that they have visited Geometric Power in Aba, stating that light would soon be restored sustainably in the area.
