Ukoha Unity Cup Final: Aro Ward 1, Ututu Ward Battle for Supremacy

The Abia State  College  of Education Technical Arochukwu (ASCETA) play ground will be set on fire this Sunday when Arochukwu Ward 1 take on Ututu Ward in the final of the Ukoha Unity Cup, sponsored by the Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha.

To qualify for the final, Arochukwu Ward 1 took on Ohafor 2 (Abam) in the first semi-final played at the Aggrey Memorial Secondary School field.
It was a ding dong affair until the 30th minute when Ifeanyi Francis gave Ohafor Ward 2 the lead.
The second half commenced with Arochukwu Ward 1 desperate to equalise. Their early substitutions paid of when Sunday Okoronkwo of Arochukwu Ward 1, equalised 12 minutes into the second half with a spectacular acrobatic kick, that mesmerized the crowd, after Ohafor Ward 2 goalkeeper failed to punch the ball away.

The match went into penalties after full time had ended 1-1.

Arochukwu Ward 1 converted three spot kicks, while their opponents converted only 2.

In the second semi-final, Ikwun Ward clashed with Ututu Ward. After a fierce battle, Ututu Ward qualified for the final courtesy of Chima Offor’s own goal.

On Saturday,
Ikwun Ward and Ohafor 2 will clash in the 3rd place match. Ahead of the final on Sunday.
