UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLAY-OFF: Real, PSG Win

Real Madrid came from behind twice to defeat Manchester City 3-2 in the first leg of the Champions League play-off. Erling Haaland scored his first goal against Real Madrid since he joined Manchester City in the 19th minute.

Kylian Mbappe equalized on the hour mark as his mishit volley sailed into the net to the dismay of Ederson in goal for City, who watched helplessly.

Manchester City restored their lead through Haaland’s penalty which was awarded when Dani Ceballos brought down Phil Foden just inside the penalty area.

Real Madrid restored parity again when Ederson parried Vinicius Junior’s shot away but the rebound fell to Brahim Diaz who scored against his former club.

Jude Bellingham gave the 15 time champions the victory with an injury time goal.

Pep Guardiola and his City players will have a hard nut to crack when the visit the Santiago Bernabeu next mid-week for the second leg.

In other matches, Borussia Dortmund defeated Sporting CP 3-0 as Juventus held on to defeat PSV 2-1.

Dembele scored twice as PSG defeated Brest 3-0 in the all-French encounter.
