Tributes As NFF President Buries Father In-Law In Abia

 

The President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Member ,FIFA Council, Amaju Pinnick, Friday, joined his in-laws at Umuapu, Ovungo Autonomous community, Isialangwa South Local Government Area of Abia State to lay to rest the remains of his father in-law, Late Elder Friday Akanwa Wokocha.

 

Aged 84, the late Elder Wokocha was survived by his wife, Mrs Gladys Wokocha, children, grandchildren, in-laws and a host of other relations.

 

 

Speaking at the event, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu who commiserated with the Wokocha family,described the late Elder Wokocha demise as a triumphant exit of a man who painstakingly groomed his children to become responsible citizens contributing to the development of the society.

Governor Ikpeazu urged members of the bereaved family to be guided by the legacies of love, honesty and fear of God their father left behind.

 

The Governor added that it is only through imbibing these virtues of the deceased that he would be truly remembered by them.

 

Also speaking, the son in-law and President Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr. Amaju Pinnick, described his father in-law as a loving and a committed family man with unwavering integrity adding that he would continue to live in their hearts till eternity.

The NFF Boss thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and other guests for coming to identify with them in their moment of grief.

 

In a tribute, the first son of the family Mr. Chinedu Wokocha said their father lived a good life and touched lives of many people and regretted that he would be greatly missed.

 

The burial attracted the presence of the Chief of staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahaiwe, some Commissioners including the Commissioner for Special Duties & Vulnerable Groups,Hon Chisom Nwachukwu, Sports men and many dignitaries.
