The National and State Election Tribunal sitting in Umuahia, the Abia state capital has upheld the election of the member representing Obingwa-East state Constituency, Hon Solomon Akpulonu, stating that the petition against the lawmaker lacked merit.
The Tribunal who dismissed the petition brought before it by Mr. Peter Azubuike of the Labour Party, held that the Petitioner could not prove the allegation of non-compliance to the electoral act he earlier alleged in his deposition.
